Harris Hill Amusement Park opens for 2025 season
BIG FLATS, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Harris Hill Amusement Park in Big Flats is officially open for the 2025 season. After the rain paused the opening day on Saturday, people of all ages showed up for opening day on Sunday. Patrons and staff alike said they're looking forward to the 2025 season.
"For the opening day, it's still a little chilly up here on the hill, but it's a good turnout," said owner Jay Goodwin.
Staff at Harris Hill said people are taking advantage of the good weather to visit the park. Goodwin said he hopes it's a place for the whole family to enjoy.
"There's something here for everyone. The whole hill, I mean we have the, we're surrounded by the county picnic area," said Goodwin. "So, you can come up here and have a picnic, then you can come here and enjoy all that we have to offer."
The park, located on Harris Hill Road, offers many attractions, including go-karts, a driving range, and an arcade.
Harris Hill opened in 1947. Jay Goodwin and his wife have owned the establishment for 28 years. It's a place that's become a summertime tradition for people like Maleigha, who said she visits often.
Maleigha said her favorite parts of Harris Hill are "the batting cages because I play softball. But also the go-karts because they are really fun."
Other guests on opening day were seen showing off their skills on the mini golf course and enjoying snow cones. Hours are currently limited, and the park will be open longer as summer gets closer.
Harris Hill is currently open from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays, and noon to 8:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
Summer hours are from noon to 8:00 p.m. daily.
