Fire destroys home in Town of Bath
TOWN OF BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- A fire destroyed a home in the Town of Bath Friday night.
The fire happened around 7:00 p.m. on Velie Road -- just south of Telegraph Road.
According to Bath VFD Chief Mike Fiordo, the home is a complete loss. Chief Fiordo said no one was home at the time of the fire, but several animals died in the fire. The fire was called in by the homeowner who saw the fire on his security cameras.
The American Red Cross has been called in to assist the people who have been displaced by the fire.
Multiple crews were called in -- not only from Bath, but also departments from Savona, Hammondsport, Tyrone, Wayne, Campbell, Thurston, and Bradford.
No word yet on the cause.
