Rain showers return tonight and taper Sunday morning

A break into the precipitation is expected for the late afternoon and evening hours. More showers coming from the Ohio Valley will arrive late tonight as a cold front approaches. Showers will continue into Sunday morning before tapering off. Temperatures will be hanging out in the 40s throughout the day with mostly cloudy skies expected following the passage of the cold front. Low pressure will pass to the south on Sunday night with snow showers expected. The system is fast moving and will keep accumulation on the light side. Snowfall amounts will be upwards of 1" for most, but some in the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania could see localized higher amounts. Snow showers will taper Monday morning, but be prepared for slick spots on the roadways. The rest of Monday will be partly sunny and dry. Temperatures will be in the lower 50s. A strong cold front will approach the area Monday night and usher in colder air for Tuesday. Highs will be in the mid 30s with the chance for snow showers. Light accumulations are expected. Partly sunny skies return for Wednesday with highs in the mid 40s. Temperatures will warm up through the 50s for the late week. A couple of systems will pass through the area Thursday through Saturday bringing the potential for rain showers. Temperatures will remain in the mid 50s Saturday.
