The Arc Chemung-Schuyler Receives State Grant of Almost $300,000 to update Neighborhood Center in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Arc Chemung-Schuyler has been awarded almost $300,000 to make improvements to its Neighborhood Center in Watkins Glen, the organization announced Thursday. Funds were provided through a state grant.
In total, the Arc is receiving a $291,429 Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program (NICIP) grant from the Dormitory Authority State of New York (DASNY).
A prepared statement from the Arc says the following:
"We are thankful to DASNY for these grant funds, knowing that the much-needed updates and repairs to our facility will make a real difference in the quality of the space," said Salvatore Garozzo, The Arc Chemung-Schuyler’s Chief Executive Officer. “The Neighborhood Center is our agency’s way of integrating The Arc’s cause into our community, providing an inclusive space for community meetings or events.”
The Neighborhood Center serves as a community building and more. It is home to the Arc’s Day Habilitation Program and provides support and resources to nearly 60 people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Watkins Glen community.
Community members can also utilize the space to host meetings, business/school events, and more.
