Cloudy skies and the chance for rain showers will stick around on Monday. A few rumbles of thunder will be possible. The severe threat has diminished for much of the Twin Tiers. A marginal risk for severe weather will be possible for areas to the southeast of Elmira. A few storms could contain gusty winds. Temperatures are expected into the upper 60s and lower 70s. Rain showers will continue into the evening before tapering off overnight following the passage of the cold front. Lows will be in the lower 30s. Fair skies are expected Tuesday with highs in the mid 40s. More clouds move in Wednesday with the chance for late day showers. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s followed by the mid 70s on Thursday as a warm front lifts through the region. Rain showers will continue on Thursday and taper into Thursday night following the passage of a cold front. Behind the front, temperatures settle into the lower 60s Friday under partly sunny skies. Another system will approach from the south on Saturday and increase cloud cover. There will be the chance for showers on Saturday as the system is moving northbound. Better chance for showers in Sunday as the system will be over the Twin Tiers. Temperatures will be in the mid 50s this weekend.
