ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Preparations are underway for this year's annual Memorial Day Parade in Elmira.

This year's parade will be held on Monday, May 26th, beginning at 9:30 a.m.  The parade route begins at the Elmira College campus, and ends at Woodlawn National Cemetery.  Organizers are in the process of reaching out to prior groups and organizations to sign up again this year, and are also looking for new groups who want to take part.

"Call the museum and leave your name with whoever's working that day, or call me at home on my cell phone and I'll make sure to get your name on the list, and hopefully we'll have a nice parade with 50-60 units in it, and a nice, good weather day," said Larry Sherman, the coordinator of the Elmira Memorial Day Parade.
