ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira Police Department is starting a Youth Summer Series, which aims to get kids outside, active, and in the game.

Starting on May 30th, kids are invited to join local police officers and community activists for some evenings of sports.  The program will run the last Friday of the month from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and all ages are invited to attend.  The series is from May to August.

Some of the activities include kickball, basketball, and flag football.  The program is put on by EPD and the City of Elmira, in partnership with the G.I.V.E. Initiative.
