ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira YWCA hosted the Ties and Tiaras Father-Daughter Dance on Saturday night. The event saw about 55 father-daughter pairs take to the dance floor for a night of fun and bonding.

The evening featured a variety of special touches, including a silver carpet for attendees to walk down, a live DJ, and refreshments. The Ties and Tiaras Dance has been held off and on since 2016, and organizers expressed their hope to make it an annual tradition moving forward.

"So, we were really excited to be able to bring it back this year and and, as you can see, the girls love to run around, they love to play, they love to dance, they love to get into their outfits, they love to have that moment and that's something that they will hopefully be able to talk about and be able to pass down to their kids.  When I was a kid, my dad and I used to go to this. It was awesome, and I like to do the same thing," said A'Don Allen, Director of Youth Services and Community Engagement at the YWCA.

Next Saturday, March 29th, the organization will host the Heels and Hi-Tops Mother-Son Dance at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event start at $25 per couple.
