Spotted Lanternfly Egg Sacs Removed from Tree in Millcreek Township

A local tree company has spotted an invasive species in Erie County.
Hayden Thomas of Odd Job Tree Specialists tells Erie News Now, he discovered two Spotted Lanternfly egg sacs on a tree in Millcreek.
The invasive species feeds on the sap of over 70 plants, and causes serious damage to crops.
According to Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, there have been two Lanternfly sightings in Erie County this year.
The insect typically spreads through the accidental transport of vehicles. If you see one, you are urged to squash it.
