Steuben Co. closing two bridges for extended repairs

STEUBEN, CO. (WENY) -- The Steuben County Department of Public Works is closing two bridges for needed repairs starting March 31.
The Bean Station Road Bridge over Five Mile Creek in the Town of Prattsburg will be closed between Muck Road and State Route 53 for 14 weeks. Drivers are being asked to take State Route 53 to Waldo Road, County Route 77 and Muck Road as a detour.
The bridge that runs over the north branch of Tuscarora Creek in the Town of Rathbone between County Route 81 and Derby Hill Road will be closed for 7 weeks. A detour will be posted for Derby Hill Road that motorists are being asked to follow.
Crews say the closures are for necessary repairs to maintain the safety and reliability of the bridges.
