Hector Town Supervisor sentenced for drunk driving

HECTOR, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Hector Town Supervisor was sentenced to 15 days in jail after being convicted of drunk driving, according to the Yates County District Attorney.
Justin Boyette was found guilty of Driving while Ability Impaired after a jury trial. According to the Schuyler County Sheriff's Office, he crashed his car on State Route 414 in Hector while driving drunk on Feb. 29, 2024.
Boyette was originally arrested on a felony DWI charge.
As part of Boyette's sentence, his license was suspended for 90 days and he will also have to pay a $500 fine.
This is his third drunk driving offense.
The Town of Hector said it had no comment on the matter when asked about the incident Monday. Town officials previously told WENY News that Boyette is still the Town Supervisor and will continue to serve as Town Supervisor.
