The Lion King Jr. Prepares to Roar at Elmira's Broadway Academy
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Excitement is in the air students prepare for the much-anticipated opening night of The Lion King Jr.. This beloved musical adaptation, which brings the magic of Disney's original story to a younger audience, showcases characters and memorable songs that everyone knows and loves.
“The Lion King Jr.” follows the journey of a young lion named Simba, who is destined to be king but must overcome challenges and learn important lessons about responsibility, friendship, and bravery.
The story begins with Simba’s joyful cubhood, where he is taught by his father, Mufasa, about the Circle of Life. However, after a turn of events, Simba finds himself lost, must discover his true identity, and return home to reclaim his place in the Pride Lands.
This adaptation is perfect for elementary and middle school students. It highlights themes of courage, perseverance, and the importance of family. With vibrant costumes and catchy songs, The Lion King Jr is sure to captivate audiences of all ages.
The stage will roar March 14-15 at 7 pm and the 16th at 2pm. The show is happening at the Paul Olyowski Theatre at Broadway Academy, located at 1000 Broadway, Elmira, New York.
