Community supports CO's on strike at ECF with parade
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The sounds of car horns honking filled the air outside of the Elmira Correctional Facility on Monday evening as hundreds of community members came together to show their support for the corrections officers on strike.
Community members left from Eldridge Park and drove down Davis Street in a car parade as the corrections officers cheered on. The parade was escorted by the Elmira Police Department, and trucks from local fire departments joined the parade line.
