Rep. Langworthy says his Jamestown District Office vandalized by 'deranged zealots'

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WENY) -- Local Republican Congressman Nick Langworthy announced on Tuesday, Feb. 25th that his Jamestown District Office was allegedly vandalized after a door to his office was found jammed shut. Langworthy called the people who allegedly jammed the door 'deranged zealots.'
"Let me be clear: these actions are crimes and have no place in our political discourse. It is completely unacceptable for my hardworking staff and the citizens who rely on our office for federal assistance to be disrupted by the criminal activity of deranged zealots. It will not be tolerated, and I will urge prosecution to the fullest extent of the law,” said Langworthy in a statement.
Langworthy said this is the second incident at a district office after white powder was allegedly sent to one of his office last week. Langworthy said that authorities have been notified, and if anyone is arrested, he wants them prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
“An act of vandalism was committed at my Jamestown office designed to jam the door and make it impossible for us to enter our office space. At the time of the incident, it was public knowledge that I was off-site holding a press conference and the office would be empty," said Langworthy.
