At least one person was injured after house fire in the Town of Caton

CATON, N.Y. (WENY) -- A fire in the Town of Caton has left at least one person injured and a house in ruins.
Plumes of smoke and flames could be seen coming from the roof that began caving in as first responders assessed the fire.
Calls came in shortly after noon on Friday reporting a house fire with entrapment on Riley Hill Road. It took fire crews from Chemung and Steuben counties several hours to put out the fire.
One firefighter at the scene of the fire shared with WENY News that one person had been taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
