Upcoming workshop designed to help people lower utility bills

ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Area State Lawmakers are hosting a workshop next week to try and help people lower their utility bills.
Senator Lea Webb and Assemblymember Anna Kelles are hosting the event at the Greater Ithaca Activities Center on Thursday, Feb. 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Officials will be there to check customers eligibility for potential credits on their utility bills, through financial assistance programs like the Home Energy Assistance Program, Energy Affordability Program, energy efficiency discounts and more.
Interested participants are asked to bring identification, a copy of a recent utility bill, and copies of any utility benefits you may have already received.
The workshop is being put on by the lawmakers in conjunction with the Public Utility Law Project of New York.
The Greater Ithaca Activities Center is located at 301 W. Court Street in Ithaca.
