Watkins Glen International President Looks Ahead to 2025 NASCAR Season
WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- This weekend marks the return of NASCAR season, with the 67th running of the Daytona 500, the Cup Series opener at Daytona International Speedway.
Ahead of the season kickoff, NASCAR hosted a series of press conferences with track presidents, including Watkins Glen International President, Dawn Burlew. Burlew says the track's team is getting ready for the upcoming season, which kicks off with opening weekend on April 4 and 5.
NASCAR's 'Go Bowling at the Glen' returns on August 8 through 10, returning to its traditional spot during the season in August. The Craftsman Truck Series makes its return to WGI for the first time since 2021.
"We've got the Truck Series this year, so that's new, we'll have ARCA back with us, so we've got a packed weekend at that time. And then we go into our SVRA, our Grand Prix weekend that we do with the village of Watkins Glen, so there's not a day that we are not busy between now and November," said Burlew.
Burlew said sales for campaign for this year's NASCAR weekend are already off to a great start.
Other notable event on the 2025 calendar for Watkins Glen International include IMSA's Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen on June 19-22, the SCCA Majors Super Tour on June 27 - 29, and F.L.X. Summer Fest on July 18 - 20.
