RUSHVILLE, N.Y. (WENY) -- A 22-year-old man from Middlesex died after a truck crashed into a tree in Rushville Monday evening.

According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office, deputies and first responders were called out to a report of a car crash on Main Street in Rushville around 6:00 p.m.

When crews arrived, they found a 2022 Dodge Ram at the intersection of Main and Bassett Streets. The truck was severely damaged from hitting a tree. The occupant, Austin M. Renfer, was extricated from the truck and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
