KANSAS CITY, MO (WENY) -  In the heart of Chiefs Kingdom, a sea of red is interrupted, as Bills Mafia has made their way to Kansas City ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship. At Taps on Main, a Bills Backers bar in downtown Kansas City, fans from across the country have gathered, proving that the bond within Bills Mafia transcends geography.

Opened in 2019, Taps on Main is a spirited hub where Buffalo Bills fans come together to cheer, celebrate, and share in the team’s journey. Owner Grant Tower shared how the growing rivalry between the Bills and Chiefs has brought a new level of energy to the bar.

“You can just feel it, and this is every single time that they’ve played here,” Tower said. “It’s felt like this, and tomorrow will be even busier. It’s hard to describe, but everybody—it’s Bills Mafia. It’s not just a bunch of fans in town. It’s Bills Mafia; the collective is here.”

That collective is a testament to the tight-knit nature of Bills fans, who find community no matter where they go. Some have traveled hundreds of miles to Kansas City for this weekend’s game, like one fan who now lives in Iowa.

“Living in Des Moines, the first couple of years I lived there, I never had someone else to watch the game with,” he said. “And I got a message one random day saying, ‘Hey, we’re starting a Bills Backers group here in Des Moines.’ Now I’ve got a whole family. I wouldn’t miss it. I wouldn’t miss a game with them. And that has now spread to now I come down to Kansas City. I know that I’ve got two different bars I can go to, to hang out with Bills fans.”

For many, being a Buffalo Bills fan isn’t just about football—it’s a legacy passed down through generations.

“I flew in today. It’s my third time here. Third time’s the charm is what I’m hoping for,” said another fan. “You’re born into it a little bit, being from upstate New York and western New York. It’s the only real New York team.”

And for some, this game is more than just a matchup—it’s a chance to witness something extraordinary.

“History might be made this weekend, and I just can’t wait to see it in person,” said Mark, who traveled with his brother for the game.

Whether in Buffalo, Des Moines, or Kansas City, Bills Mafia proves that their passion knows no bounds—and this Sunday, they’ll bring that energy into Arrowhead Stadium in full force.
