Sensory-Friendly Performance of Pinocchio Coming to Elmira's Clemens Center
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The story of Pinocchio is uniquely coming to life at the Clemens Center on Saturday, January 25th with a sensory-friendly performance.
The classic tale follows Pinocchio, a talking wooden puppet carved by a kind-hearted Geppetto, as he navigates trials and tribulations on his journey to becoming a real boy.
This sensory-friendly adaption is designed to create a more comfortable experience for audience members with sensory sensitivities. Adjustments include dimmed, not dark, house lights, consistent volume levels, and narrators explaining key visual and audio elements of the performance.
The Clemens Center says the goal is to ensure everyone in the community can enjoy the show in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Tickets are $15 and are available by clicking here. Seating is prioritized on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The show is 60 minutes long and starts at 2 p.m.
The Clemens Center is located at 207 Clemens Center Pkwy, Elmira, NY 14901.
