OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- One person was arrested following a fire in Owego last Thursday.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office in New York, 53-year-old Robert Cook was charged with Arson, Assault and Criminal Mischief after allegedly setting fire to a home on Gaskill Rd. in the Town of Owego.

Cook was arraigned and sent to the Tioga County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Emergency crews first responded to the house fire on Jan. 16 around 8 p.m.

According to the Campville Fire Department, four people were trapped inside the burning home and needed to be rescued.

Two people were taken to the hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The blaze completely destroyed the home.
