Food Bank of the Southern Tier to host Serve and Learn MLK Day event
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Food Bank of the Southern Tier is hosting a Serve and Learn Event in Elmira to honor MLK Day.
On Monday, January 20th at the Food Bank of the Southern Tier Warehouse, volunteers will come together to participate in a variety of activities including food repacking, workshops, and tours. activities including food repacking, workshops, and tours.
“On this MLK Day, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy by coming together and deepening our understanding of the root causes of hunger and inequality. Learning together about systemic issues is a critical first step in building a hunger-free and compassionate community,” said Lyndsey Lyman, Community Empowerment Manager.
