WAVERLY, N.Y. (WENY) -- A Sayre woman was arrested on a slew of charges after an investigation into a hit-and-run accident at the Valley Bowling Alley on January 11th.

The Waverly Police Department says 22-year-old Janie L. Smith was arrested for misdemeanor DWI, misdemeanor obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, violation level of refusal to take a breath test and harassment in the second degree.  This was following a motor vehicle hit-and-run around 11 p.m. on January 11th.  When investigating, Waverly Police say they found Smith and the vehicle in the parking lot of the Waverly Dandy Mini Mart.

Police say Smith was arrested for DWI, and during her arrest she was verbally combative, yelling slurs at arresting officers. While she was being arrested, police say Smith made several threats to kill an officer, and was arrested for Making Terroristic Threats (felony level).

Smith is scheduled to appear in court later this month.
