CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Ella's Acres Homestead went from farmer's markets to a food truck and then to its restaurant in the Arnot Mall. Now, a soft opening is happening at their newest location in Corning.

While the family-owned business began in 2021, owners Samantha and Markus Brown have always dreamed of opening a breakfast spot in Corning, as hospitality manager Maggie Hall noted.

Ella's Acres aims to bring sustainable, farm-fresh food to the community, sourcing from around 20 local farms to build their menu. During the restaurant's soft opening, menu options are limited and changing every day to test what dishes the community likes in order to curate Ella's permanent menu. However, the full coffee bar menu is already available for guests to try.

Hall adds that the Browns encourage people to enjoy Ella's in whatever capacity they can. Whether that's stopping by to get coffee and food to go or sitting down and enjoying the new space, Ella's second location is now open in Corning for all to try.

Additionally, the restaurant is adorned with various plants for sale from a local plant shop, Gaia's Greens.

"So this is our second week and we've just been like overwhelmed by the amount of support," said Maggie Hall, the hospitality manager at Ella's Acres Homestead. "You know, like if someone were to walk in off the street and you know, not know that it was a soft open, you wouldn't because we have just been so positively overwhelmed with, you know, new people coming in, regulars, coming in, checking out the new space, and it's just been fantastic."

The soft opening is currently in its second week and Hall adds that the Ella's Acres team is looking forward to opening officially next week with a permanent menu.

Ella's is located at 36 Bridge Street in Corning and will be open seven days a week. Their hours are Monday through Friday from 7:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M.
