(WENY) -- The Bradford Co. Regional Arts Council (BCRAC) is hosting its second annual Special Needs Expo later this week. It's happening on Saturday, January 11th at the Sayre Theater from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In a written statement, Sarah Brackel, the Director of Theater Operations at BCRAC said, “This event is not just for people with special needs but also caregivers, families & friends that can share resources, connect with other people having the same struggles & questions, but also for people that want to know what is available in our community.”

On-site resources will include the Advocacy Alliance, OneWell Healthcare, Tioga Tae Kwan Do, BLaST, Bradford Sullivan Intellectual Disabilities and more.

“Last year we had over 100 people come through the doors & every one of them found a resource they weren’t previously aware of. The theatre itself offers Sensory Friendly movies for families that find a traditional movie theatre too stressful- the lights are on but dimmer and the sound is on lower than usual. “Wiggles” are encouraged too!” said Brackel.

In addition to the event, the Sayre Theater will be showing the documentary, 'To Dye For.' It highlights the story of families dealing with artificial ingredients in foods and the effects it has.

Want to sign up for a booth at the event? Organizers said the only criteria is you must be inclusive to those with special needs. To join, email [email protected] with your company name. You must bring your own table.
