(WENY) -- The new year brings a number of fun events happening at the Southeast Steuben County Library in Corning.

Children's Librarian, Sue McConnell visited Good Morning Twin Tiers on Sunday to share lots of activities for children and families in January.

The library's "Bookopoly" Winter Reading Club is underway - readers follow the instructions on a game board, reading their way to prizes.

On January 11th, the library will host its "Skate n' Flick" event. Pick up a free skating pass at the children's desk prior to 2PM on the 11th, and enjoy ice skating (including skate rentals) from 4PM - 6PM. Then head over to the library for the movie "Wild Robot" at 6:15.

January 16th is National Appreciate a Dragon Day - a day to honor dragons as cultural symbols and fictional creatures. Join Miss Sue to create a dragon eye craft and learn more about the mythical creatures.
