Homes, cars hit by early morning gunfire in Elmira
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Elmira police responded to reports of shots fire in the city just a few hours into the New Year.
Elmira police say officers were called to the 400 block of West 3rd Street around 4:50AM for multiple reports of gunshots in the area. Callers told police they heard at least eight gunshots.
According to EPD, officers found multiple shell casings, and that two homes and several cars had been hit. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
Elmira police are asking anyone with information, or who may have video of the incident to contact EPD at 607-737-5626.
