Steuben County Highway Superintendents support foster children through gift drive

BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Highway Superintendents across Steuben County teamed up this week to help over 250 children receive gifts on Christmas.
Members of the Steuben Town Municipal Highway Superintendents Association of Steuben County, made up of highway department heads from across the county, brought unwrapped children's gifts to their monthly meeting which were donated to Toys for Tots.
The gifts will support children in foster care and protective cases.
“We appreciate the opportunity to be a part of the Association each year. This is one opportunity we can give back to the children directly from the Association for a hope for a better holiday season. It’s for sure something we all look forward to each year. The last thing I want is a kid to wake up on the 25th and not have a Christmas,” said Todd Housel, Deputy Commissioner of the Steuben County Department of Public Works.
Thirty-two townships and villages in Steuben County participated in the gift drive, according to county officials.
