Finger Lakes Distilling opens a second location
NEWFIELD, N.Y. (WENY) -- Finger Lakes Distilling announced on Thursday, Dec. 19th they have opened a new facility in Newfield. Located at 1143 Elmira Road, the new location will not have distillation on site, but will instead become home to the company's bottling operations, and host a tasting room.
“This expansion nearly doubles our operational footprint,” said Brian McKenzie, owner and founder of Finger Lakes Distilling in a prepared statement, adding “The Newfield location will allow us to better serve both our existing customers and the many travelers along Route 13, providing a convenient and welcoming space to enjoy our spirits.”
The new location will offer craft cocktails and flights, bottle sales of the company's spirits and what they are calling light food items. As it stands, the new location is open 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday with plans to expand hours in the Spring.
In the future, there are plans for education events, guided barrel tours, space for small events, and collaborations with local food trucks.
Open since 2008, the distillery produces McKenzie whiskeys, vodka, gin, brandies and liqueurs. The original location is in Burdett, Schuyler County, but the company says the new space will allow it to attract consumers looking for local beer, wine, cider and cocktails.
