Elmira Pioneers to Help the Less Fortunate on Christmas Eve

ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- For people in Elmira who are in need of a little extra support, an event being held on Christmas Eve aims to help.
The Elmira Pioneers will host their seventh annual "Helping the Less Fortunate" event on December 24th, at the Family Fitness Center at 425 Pennsylvania Avenue in Elmira. People can go to the gymnasium, and receive winter clothing items like coats, hats and gloves, blankets, toiletries, and enjoy a hot meal.
“This event is my favorite of the year for our organization. The local businesses that are involved deserve all the credit. We are proud to be the sports team for a great community who all come together around the holidays," said Elmira Pioneers owner Robbie Nichols.
The event begins at noon, and runs until 2PM.
