Ithaca Police investigating homicide, suspect in custody

UPDATE (11/12): Ithaca Police have identified the suspect in the Monday morning homicide as Ahmed Abed, a 43-year-old man. Abed was charged with Murder, according to the Ithaca Police Department.
He is currently in the Tompkins County Jail without bail.
Still not much is known about the incident, police told WENY News they will not release any further information out of respect to survivors and their investigation.
ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Ithaca Police Department are investigating a supposed homicide in the city. A suspect is in custody, according to police.
Law enforcement say they were called to a reported death inside a home on the 400 block of S. Plain St. around 5:30 a.m. Monday, but are investigating the person's death as a homicide.
No details were released about the victim, or about the suspect in question. Police tell WENY News they will not release any further information as they continue to investigate.
Law enforcement believe this was not a random act.
