DUNDEE, NY (WENY ) -- A Finger Lakes winery and food truck are coming together to host a wine pairing dinner on Sunday, November 3rd.

Little Clover Wine Company and La Monarka Food Truck are collaborating on a 'Day of the Dead' wine pairing dinner, to be hosted at 1897 Beekman House bed and breakfast in Dundee. 

Erin McMurrough, the owner of Little Clover Wine Company, said the idea was born out of meeting Rosa Aguilera at a wine tasting event, where La Monarka food truck was set up. 

"Rosa had the idea of us pairing together for a dinner, and we had our first brainstorming session, we were looking at dates in November, and said let's do a Day of the Dead dinner; Rosa has the perfect location with the 1897 Beekman House in Dundee, and that's how the wheels got in motion with that," said McMurrough.

The wine pairing dinner will feature four courses of Mexican food prepared by La Monarka, accompanied by sparkling wine by Little Clover. 

"We are making everything from scratch, all the seasonings, everything we do it is from scratch. Throughout the meal we're going to be using different types of corn. As most of you know, Mexico is very big on corn, so we are using white corn, blue corn and yellow corn throughout the meal," Aguilera explained.  

When guests arrive, they will be greeted with a sparkling wine cocktail and arepas, a type of stuffed corn cake. Then they will be guided through the seated dinner, with each dish paired with an sparkling wine.

"It's like the food is the reason people gather, and the sparkling wine makes it a party," McMurrough said. 

There are two seatings for the dinner, at 4PM and 7PM. Tickets are $95 per person, and reservations are required, as space is limited.
