Owego's 4th Annual Village Appreciation Night to be held on Friday

OWEGO, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Village of Owego will host its 4th Annual Village Appreciation Night on Friday, October 18 from 5:30 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
The event will take place at Marvin Park in the Tioga County Fairgrounds. Admission to the event is free.
Some of the celebration's activities will include live music, free food and drinks, games and prizes, a helicopter landing, K9 demonstrations, face painting, hay wagon rides from Fritz Rudin, a hot air balloon, fireworks, and plenty more for people of all ages to enjoy.
One of the biggest hits, however, will be the bonfire at the center of the fairgrounds being controlled by a firefighter throughout the duration of the event.
The event is hosted by several local businesses, sponsors, and agencies including the Village of Owego, the Owego Police Department, and the Owego Fire Department and EMS.
It originally began as an event to thank first responders and give the community a chance to have a night out at the park following the COVID-19 pandemic.
For more information on the event, you can contact the Owego Police Chief Joseph Kennedy at 607-687-2233.
