Woman Killed in Car-Pedestrian Accident in Tioga

TIOGA, PA (WENY) -- A woman from Tioga County, Pennsylvania died Tuesday afternoon, after she was hit by a car while crossing the road.
Pennsylvania State Police identified the victim as Margorie Jackson. The accident happened around 1 P.M. Tuesday on state Route 287, when police say Jackson walked in front of an oncoming vehicle after checking the mailbox across the road.
Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene.
Route 287 was detoured for several hours after the crash. The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
