CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The second day of Harvest in Downtown Corning was bustling and full of people getting ready for the fall season.

Market Street and several side streets remained closed off and filled with tents containing vendors, food spots, and fun activities and games for all ages.

Most of the attractions on the street were completely free, including inflatables and face painting for kids, balloon art, live music, classic cars, stilt walking performances, and hayrides.

"This community, it really makes the event, you know, like it wouldn't be anything without the people who come down and enjoy it," remarked Emmie Agee, the marketing manager of Corning's Gaffer District, "With our restaurants, we already have on the street that you can come to anytime, the brick and mortar spots. There's also so many vendors and food trucks. So there's something for everyone to try."

Participating local businesses were also able to compete in a scarecrow contest, with the winner to be selected by the viewing public.

Hundreds made their way to Corning to kick off fall, which officially starts tomorrow, on a fun note. This year's harvest wraps up at 9:00 P.M., and the Gaffer District is already gearing up for more fall and winter fun.
