CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Corning Painted Post Historical Society turned back the clocks today at the 46th annual Heritage Festival at the Heritage Village of the Southern Finger Lakes.

Traditional skills and crafts from colonial times were displayed throughout the village grounds. Vendors sold food and handcrafted gifts and trinkets for patrons to enjoy.

Activities were present for all ages as kids had plenty of games and guided fun to enjoy, in addition to live music. The museum was also open during the festival, and tours of historic on-site buildings highlighted the days events.

One of the most striking displays was a restored chuck-wagon, demonstrating the struggle of pre-industrial migration.

"They had to carry their stuff with them. They had to cook in in that on the Ground and it was a rough way of life. But it was what they had at the time. There's a there's a lot of history, and a lot of People went through a lot an awful lot," remarked Dan Swearingen, the chuck wagon's demonstrator.

Additional activities included visual demonstrations, farm animal visits, corn-themed games, a bake sale, raffles, and a cornhole tournament.
