FEMA Assistance available for those in PA affected by flooding from Debby
PENNSYLVANIA (WENY) -- Those who live in Tioga and Potter Counties who were impacted by flooding as a result of the remnants of Debby are now eligible to apply for assistance from FEMA.
FEMA went door to door in Westfield, Pennsylvania letting people know that assistance is available. According to FEMA, some people still don't have access to hot water, or in some cases, water at all.
FEMA may be able to help flood victims pay for temporary housing, home repairs, rental assistance and other needs caused by the disaster.
"Survivors can give us a call at 1-800-621-3362 and speak with someone, they can go to disasterassistance.gov, they can download the FEMA app and soon they'll be able to stop by one of our disaster recovery centers we're setting up and speak to someone face to face," said Trey Paul from FEMA.
FEMA will have a list of disaster recovery centers soon. The deadline to apply for assistance is November 12th.
