TOWANDA, PA (WENY) -- A celebration of live, local music will return to Towanda, Pennsylvania on Saturday, September 7th.

The second annual Towanda Porchfest will showcase live music from on more than 20 porches across Towanda borough's north end, with nearly 40 performers of all genres between noon at 7PM. Community members volunteer to offer their homes with porches to the performances, in an effort to foster community and support local musicians.

"We just wanted to help the community grow and come together more, and bring more positivity to our community, and good things for families," said Michelle Hatch, with the Hatch House Bed and Breakfast on York Avenue, one of the host porches for the event. "This is a family event that's free to our community, and we want to keep it that way in years to come, so we were very happy to get on board and help with the event and have it be something that our community looks forward to each year."

This year, Towanda Porchfest has added a vendor village of art and craft vendors, in addition to food trucks, and beverage vendors, like local breweries and distilleries. To make transportation easier between the multiple locations, BeST Transit will provide shuttle services across town, for those in need of transportation services.
