WATKINS GLEN, NY (WENY) -- After a year as a playoff race in the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series season, the race at Watkins Glen International will return to August in 2025.

Go Bowling at The Glen race weekend will take place from August 8 though 10 in 2025, as NASCAR released its upcoming race schedule on Thursday. The race weekend at WGI will serve as the third-to-last race of the regular season, for both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series.

Additionally, the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series will make its return to WGI, for the first time since 2021. The Truck Series ran at The Glen from 1996 to 2000.

We're just over two weeks out from NASCAR's return to Watkins Glen International in 2024, where events kick off on September 13 with the ARCA Menards Series General Tire 100 at The Glen, the NASCAR Xfinity Series Mission Foods 200 on Saturday, and Go Bowling at The Glen NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday September 15th.

“Watkins Glen International is a challenging and prestigious road course that provides the perfect backdrop for setting up championship opportunities,” said Dawn Burlew, President of Watkins Glen International. “In only a couple weeks, fans will get to see Playoff action here for the first time, while next year they’ll get to cheer on their favorite drivers as they once again battle it out for a berth in the Playoffs. We’re so proud WGI is playing such an instrumental role in NASCAR’s championship over these two seasons.”
