Resources still available in Tioga County for those affected by Debby
WESTFIELD, PA (WENY) -- If you live in Westfield, Knoxville, or any other area in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, that was affected by Debby’s flash flooding, there are still resources in the area to take advantage of.
With school starting this week, all the resources that were made available at the Cowanesque Valley High School have moved to the Westfield Municipal Building and the fire hall.
Meals are served daily. You can also head inside the building to sign up for assistance. If you are volunteering, you can also sign up for a task.
“Folks can come in and say, ‘I have a need for my basement to be cleaned out,’ and then a volunteer group comes in and they say, ‘Hey, we have four folks that want to do a job,’” Sam VanLoon, Tioga County Commissioner, said. “The send those folks out to the needed areas and help.”
Donations are being continually handed out at the fire hall in Knoxville. The Salvation Army is also set up in Osceola and Westfield to serve out hot meals.
