High need for cleaning supplies in Westfield, Pennsylvania
WESTFIELD, PA (WENY) -- Westfield, Pennsylvania, and surrounding communities in the Northern Tier, are recovering from flash flooding that was caused by tropical storm Debby last Friday. Now, the community is in cleanup mode.
If you take a drive down Main Street from the Westfield Municipal Building to Cowanesque Valley Jr./Sr. High School, you can see hoses draining water from homes and businesses into the street. Westfield is muddy, mucky, and in need of a deep clean.
Volunteer Christina Snell said cleaning the town is on everyone's priority list.
"Right now, people are really just trying to fix their homes and clean out the mud and the sludge that Debby has created for so many," Snell said. "You know, fixing their homes! So, a lot of people are asking for totes to store their things…cleaning supplies. We go through a lot of Clorox and Lysol wipes."
There is also a need for toiletries. People can drop off food, cleaning supplies, and any other necessity at the both locations.
