Dog rescued from house fire in Watkins Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (WENY) -- A fire broke out in a home in Watkins Glen Sunday, and first responders say they were able to rescue a dog from inside the home.
The fire broke out around 11 a.m. on 11th Street. According to the Watkins Glen Fire Department, a dog was found in the home unconscious. Firefighters immediately started CPR, and were able to save the dogs life. The dog is currently being treated by a vet.
No one was home, and there were no injuries reported as a result of this fire. The cause is under investigation. The Montour Falls FD, Burdett FD, Schuyler County EMO, and Dundee FD Fast Team assisted.
