Chemung River expected to reach minor flood stage Saturday

CHEMUNG COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Chemung River is expected to rise to its minor flood stage Saturday morning, according to the Chemung County Director of Emergency Management.
The river is expected to crest around 12.3 feet, as the heavy rains and flooding Steuben County received will drain into the Chemung River throughout Friday night.
Possible areas impacted by the rising river include State Route 352 near Winters Road in the Town of Big Flats, Lower Maple Avenue in Ashland, and low lying areas in the Town of Chemung.
