ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Sciencenter a museum in Ithaca received the New York State Senate Empire Award from Senator Lea Webb. The honor recognizes the Sciencenter's contributions to the community and its impacts on science education.

The Sciencenter is a place for discovery that welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually to its Ithaca location and it reaches 1.5 million people worldwide through traveling exhibits and outreach programs. The museum focuses on hands-on experiences with interactive STEM exhibits on forces, energy, astronomy, and ocean health. Visitors have the chance to see live animals like reptiles and fish.

Most of the Sciencenter's exhibits are crafted in-house by a team of exhibit developers.
