BATAVIA, N.Y. (WENY) - The Elmira Pioneers captured their second straight PGCBL West Division Championship on Wednesday.

Elmira rallied to beat the top-seeded Batavia Muckdogs, 6-3.

The Pioneers trailed 2-0 early on Tuesday before the game was suspended due to rain. Then on Wednesday in the top of the 4th, Patrick Ward tied the game with a 2 RBI triple. Ward scored on an error shortly after to give Elmira a 3-2 lead.

Elmira added to their lead in the top of the 5th inning as Andy Schroeder drove in Matthew Leahy to take a 3-2 advantage.

Calvin Warrillow and Ward accounted for Elmira's final two RBI's.

Elmira will take on the Amsterdam Mohawks in a rematch of last year's PGCBL best-of-three Championship Series with game one on Thursday at Dunn Field at 6:30 PM. Admission to the game is free.
