Cleanup Crews Remove Trash, Debris From Under Clemens Center Bridge in Elmira
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- Waste removal crews spent hours Monday removing trash and debris from underneath the Clemens Center bridge in Elmira.
Workers with T&R Environmental, using skid steers were seen hauling out trash, and filling dumpsters to be taken away. Both sides of the Clemens Center bridge are known homeless encampments in the city.
New York State Police were also on scene, as Clemens Center Parkway is a state road, carrying State Route 14.
Trash from under the bridge has been removed many times in recent years, as the city works to address the homeless situation, and the population living under the bridge and other locations throughout Elmira.
