UPDATE 9:10 P.M. (7/1) -- The Bradford County Department of Public Safety says one person was taken for medical evaluation after a fire damaged a Page Manor apartment in Athens Monday.

The fire was contained to one apartment on the fourth floor, other areas of the building suffered minor smoke damage. Officials say the apartment was "well involved" in flames, according to a post on Facebook.

All residents in the eight-story apartment building were evacuated while fire departments worked to put out the fire. The Red Cross is currently assisting one resident of the apartment building, according to the Public Safety Department.


ATHENS, PA. (WENY) -- Multiple fire departments responded to a fire at a Page Manor apartment in Athens Monday evening.

Calls came over the scanner for a structure fire around 5 p.m. Monday.

WENY's reporter on scene saw a ladder trucks aerial stretched into an apartment window but, there is no confirmation if that is the window to the apartment that caught fire. Emergency crews told WENY that no information would be released at this time.

Athens Borough Fire Department, Sayre Fire Department, North Towanda Volunteer Fire and Rescue, EMS personnel and police all responded to the scene.
