ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Elmira Police announced on Friday, June 28th that a 27-year-old Elmira man is in custody after being charged with Murder in the Second Degree. According to Police, Marcus Jones-Snyder shot and killed 21-year-old Zachary Van Horn on June 20th.

Van Horn was found unresponsive and transported to a local hospital by helicopter where he was pronounced dead. Police say they identified Jones-Snyder as a suspect after investigating the shooting, arresting him on Thursday, June 27th.

Police thanked the public for their help in locating Jones-Snyder.
