MANSFIELD, P.A. (WENY) - The Mansfield University Sprint Football team finished last season 4-3 overall, making it five straight seasons with a .500 record or better. Now, the Mountaineers are ready to build on that this fall.

MU's Sprint Football regular season schedule was announced on Monday.

One major addition of note is the return of the Josh Palmer Pigskin Classic for the first time since 2019. The Pigskin Classic will return for the season opener on Saturday, September 21st at 1 PM vs Navy. Mansfield University says more information on the event will be released in the coming weeks.

MU released a statement from Head Coach, John Evans saying "We are excited to bring back the Josh Palmer Pigskin Classic. The Josh Palmer Foundation does so much in the Twin Tiers supporting cancer treatment and support."

Mansfield's schedule consists of 8 total games, 4 of them are at home.

Homecoming is set for October 5th against St. Thomas Aquinas. The Mountaineers will host their Pink Out Game on October 19th against Chestnut Hill. Then, Senior Day is scheduled for November 2nd against Molloy.
