UPDATE 2:30PM 6/24 (WENY) -- Authorities released information regarding Sunday morning's chase.

The Chemung County Sheriff's Office says deputies were on patrol in Catlin, looking for people allegedly stealing items out of homes and vehicles. Deputies spotted a red pickup truck on Breed Hollow Road, and attempted to pull it over when the driver began to speed away.

The Sheriff's Office says deputies began pursuing the truck through the town of Catlin, when the pickup went off the road and into a ditch before returning the the roadway, almost hitting the patrol vehicle. The chase continued for about another mile before the truck again went off the road, and ended up in a field and into some brush.

Authorities say the driver got of the pickup and ran off. A passenger in the truck yelled for help, who was found on the ground outside the truck. The deputies say the female passenger initially gave a false name, but was later identified as Kellie M. Kelley of Corning. Kelley was not seriously injured, and is now being held by the Sayre Borough Police Department as a Fugitive from Justice.

The Sheriff's Office used night-vision equipment in trying to find the driver of the truck, but was unsuccessful. The investigation is ongoing.
